Picklebet review: the esports bookie with 8am to 8pm payouts and an open ACMA case

Verdict

Picklebet scores 6.6 out of 10. It does several small things that genuinely help players, like letting you remove your own ability to cancel a withdrawal, and its cooldown and exclusion options are among the widest we found. Its payout promise is less precise than the leaders': processing happens between 8am and 8pm every day, but the money can then take up to five business days to reach your bank. And it is under an ACMA cloud for BetStop breaches. We read Picklebet's help centre and terms, its App Store listing, the Northern Territory register and ACMA on 8 October 2026, without opening an account.

Who runs Picklebet

Picklebet's terms (version 2.11, 22 June 2026) say it is "owned and operated by Puntaa Pty Ltd", ACN 601 575 240, registered at 48-50 Smith St, Darwin. Sportsbook bets are treated as placed and received in the Northern Territory, and Picklebet "is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Government". The NT register lists Puntaa Pty Ltd trading as PICKLEBET, although the website column on that row shows puntcity.com.au rather than picklebet.com. Picklebet's App Store listing says the brand was founded in 2020.

Picklebet withdrawal times in Australia

A request at 9pm waits for the 8am window the next morning. The open-ended part is the bank leg: Picklebet does not promise real-time payments, so "1 to 5 business days" is the honest planning figure.

Before your first withdrawal, three checks can stop you. If you deposited by debit card, you must verify it: Picklebet charges a random amount between $0.01 and $0.99, and you enter the cents you see on your bank statement. Australian customers also need a verified mobile number. And your withdrawable balance can be lower than your total balance because deposits must be turned over first.

A withdrawal setting worth switching on

Picklebet lets you cancel a pending withdrawal before it is processed (not for South Australian residents). It also lets you turn that ability off in Preferences. If you know you are tempted to reverse a withdrawal and keep betting, a setting that takes the option away is a real safeguard.

Deposits

You can deposit AUD by debit card, PayID, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are instant; PayID can wait 24 hours the first time, then should be instant. Picklebet warns that some issuing banks decline debit card deposits, and points you to PayID instead. Deposits above your limit by PayID are held and sent back. Credit cards are excluded at every licensed bookmaker since June 2024.

Esports and racing

Esports is Picklebet's point of difference. Its help centre names FIFA, CS:GO, League of Legends, Dota 2, StarCraft 2, Rainbow Six and Rocket League among the games covered, and its terms also cover fantasy esports contests. On racing, the app listing says eligible bets pay up to 4th place, which changes the maths of a place bet: run it through our each way calculator to see what a fourth-place payout is worth.

Codes, deposit matches and casino searches

Australians search for Picklebet codes, deposit matches and a Picklebet casino. Picklebet's promotional terms are written for several currencies, AUD, EUR, NZD and USD, and mention refer-a-friend offers. For an Australian account the national framework is clear: no "credit, voucher, reward, or other benefit" as an incentive to open an account or refer someone. Safer gambling tools

• Deposit limits: daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly (30 days).
• Cooldown: 1, 7, 14, 30, 60 or 90 days, or a custom 1 to 90 days. It cannot be ended early, and you can still log in and withdraw.
• Self-exclusion: 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or permanently.
• Monthly betting statements, emailed when you have been active.

The ACMA finding

On 29 January 2026 ACMA announced that six wagering providers, Picklebet among them, had failed to comply with rules protecting people registered on BetStop, with the contraventions occurring in 2024. ACMA said it was "currently finalising enforcement action for Picklebet" and published an investigation report. We found no final outcome on ACMA's site by 8 October 2026.
