BitStarz review: fast crypto payouts, thin protections

BitStarz promises crypto withdrawals within an hour and names its Curacao licence in its terms. The footer version written for Australians leaves the operator and licence out, and 15 BitStarz domains are blocked by ACMA.

BitStarz verdict

BitStarz is a long-running crypto casino with clear terms and a strong payout promise: it says it tries to pay withdrawals within an hour and charges no withdrawal fees. Against that, 15 BitStarz domains are on ACMA's blocked list, the footer it shows Australians leaves out who runs the site, and its public responsible gambling page offers little beyond emailing support. We score it 3.9 out of 10.

Unlike most sites on our list, BitStarz's pages loaded normally on 8 October 2026, so this desk review uses its terms (last updated 25 June 2025), bonus terms, payments, about and Play Safe pages.

BitStarz's site code holds several versions of its footer disclaimer. The standard one states that BitStarz.com is operated by Gareton B.V., registered in Curacao under No. 160656, and licensed by the Curacao Gaming Authority under licence OGL/2024/165/0185. The version marked for Australia names neither the company nor the licence. Instead it says: "It is the player's sole responsibility to inquire about the existing laws". We would rather a casino tell Australians the law plainly: online casino games cannot legally be offered to them.

Who operates BitStarz

Clause 1.2 of the terms is clear: BitStarz.com is managed by Gareton B.V., a Curacao company (registration 160656, Landhuis Zuikertuin, Willemstad) licensed and regulated by the Curacao Gaming Authority under OGL/2024/165/0185. We found no sister sites named in BitStarz's own pages.

No. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits offering online casino games and pokies to people in Australia, and ACMA's blocked gambling websites list includes bitstarz.com, eleven numbered mirrors from bitstarz28.com to bitstarz64.com, and three b1tstarz addresses that swap the "i" for a "1". Look-alikes like those are a reason to be careful with any "BitStarz Australia login" link.

BitStarz's own restricted list covers more than 60 countries, from the US and UK to Serbia and Brazil, but not Australia. The Act's penalties fall on the operator; ACMA warns players that using illegal operators risks losing their money.

BitStarz withdrawal speed and fees

BitStarz's payout claims are among the strongest we have read, so here is exactly what each source says:

SourceWhat it says
Terms 8.7.1BitStarz tries to pay withdrawals within 1 hour; some take longer
About pageThe average cashout takes no more than 10 minutes
Terms 8.7.8Big wins are verified with the game provider first and can take longer
Terms 8.7.7Bank transfers are paid in EUR and take 3 to 10 banking days
Terms 8.7.10Neither BitStarz nor its processor charges withdrawal fees

The catches: each deposit must be played through once before it can be withdrawn, withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, and KYC can include a selfie with ID and a phone call. If BitStarz cannot reach you within two weeks of a withdrawal request, the account is locked. We found no daily or monthly withdrawal cap in the terms, and the cashier limits for Australians are only visible after login.

BitStarz accepts AUD alongside many coins, including BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT and USDC. If you are paid in crypto, the ATO treats crypto you win as a capital gains tax asset once you hold it as an investment; our guide to crypto casino withdrawals explains the steps, and the crypto casino Australia page covers the risks.

Bonus terms: 40x, A$5 maximum bet

The welcome package is a 100% first deposit bonus with 180 free spins, then up to EUR 400 or 4 BTC over the next three deposits. The bonus terms set:

  • 40x wagering on bonuses and on free spin winnings
  • A A$5 maximum bet while wagering, including bonus buys and double-up gambles
  • 7 days to finish welcome bonuses; other bonuses expire 24 hours after they are issued
  • Welcome spins arrive 20 a day, and the first deposit must be wagered once within 24 hours to keep them coming
  • Table, live, instant win, lottery and bingo games usually count 5%

A A$100 bonus at 40x means A$4,000 of bets, at least 800 spins at the A$5 cap, and an expected loss of about A$160 on 96% RTP pokies (A$4,000 x 4%). Within 7 days, that is roughly 115 maximum-stake spins a day.

No deposit free spins: the A$150 cap

BitStarz's bonus terms cap winnings from free play (registration spins, weekly free spin drops and similar) at A$150, wagered 40x, and none of it can be withdrawn until you have deposited at least A$20. Players with disposable email addresses do not qualify. We could not confirm a live no deposit code for Australians; see our no deposit bonus guide for how capped spins work out.

Responsible gambling: self-exclusion by email

The Play Safe page offers one tool: self-exclusion, which you activate by emailing support. It lists GamCare, Gordon House and Gam-Anon, all overseas. We found no deposit, loss or session limits described on BitStarz's public pages. Accounts are charged at least EUR 5 a month once they have been dormant for six months. For Australian help, see our gambling help Australia page.

Frequently asked questions

Is BitStarz legit?

BitStarz names its operator, Gareton B.V. (Curacao registration 160656), and a Curacao Gaming Authority licence, OGL/2024/165/0185. That licence does not cover Australia, where online casinos cannot be licensed, and ACMA has asked internet providers to block 15 BitStarz domains.

Is BitStarz legal in Australia?

No. Online casino games cannot legally be offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act. BitStarz leaves Australia off its restricted-country list and accepts AUD, but that does not make it legal here.

How long do BitStarz withdrawals take?

Its terms say it tries to pay out within 1 hour, though big wins are first verified with the game provider and bank transfers take 3 to 10 banking days. BitStarz says it charges no withdrawal fees, but your bank may.

Does BitStarz have a no deposit bonus?

Its bonus terms cover no deposit free spins, but we could not confirm a current offer for Australians. Winnings are wagered 40x, capped at A$150, and cannot be withdrawn until you have deposited at least A$20.

Can I set deposit limits at BitStarz?

BitStarz's Play Safe page only describes self-exclusion, which you request by emailing support. We found no deposit, loss or session limit tools described on its public pages.
